インドのバンガロールに２ヶ月住んでみた。２ヶ月住んでみての感想は、正直もう一度住みたいとは思えない。インドに駐在している人なんかは大変な思いをしているにちがいない。日本に住み慣れてしまった日本人の感覚からするととにかく全て思ったとおりにいかないのでイライラさせられてしまう。その理由はとにかく全てが遅い、適当な人が多い、人が多くて何をするにも時間がかかる。列車のチケット一枚買うのにも込んでいるときなどは１時間かかってしまうこともある。人は平気で割り込んでくる。手続きがやたらと面倒くさかったりする。一元化されてないのであっちこっちたらいまわしにされる。
インターネットの契約するときにも本当に手間がかかった。TATADOCOMOというインドのタタ社と日本のドコモが提携している合弁会社があるのだが、比較的信用できそうなので代理店を訪ねてみた。契約には住所を証明するものが必要といわれ宿泊していたホテルのオーナーに電話をし何が必要か電話で聞いてもらった。すると電気の使用明細でいいとのことなのでホテルのオーナーに発行してもらう。提出後何日かで無事に回線がつながった。しかし数日後突然つながらなくなる。聞いてみると提出した電気使用明細、その書類では駄目だという。指定してきたものを提出したのにわけが分からない。しかもなんの断りもなしに止めてしまう。インド人の知り合いのIDを借りて再度提出。その後１週間ほどしてつながる。提出の翌日にはつながるといっていたのだが結局１週間も待たされた。もちろん確認の電話やメールをしたのだが電話に出ないか、出ても話の途中で電話を切り、その後電源を切るなどしてくる。日本ではまず考えられない対応だ。
使用していた期間２ヶ月で計４回もとめられた。合計したら１ヶ月も使用できていなかったと思う。はじめのうちは苦情を出来るだけして促していたが、そんなことは無駄だということに気づいた。こちらがどんなに正論を述べたところで状況は何も変わらない。代理店の担当者からタタドコモの担当者そしてその上司と紹介してもらったが、似たり寄ったりだった。とにかくレスポンスは遅いし約束は守らない。こちらが感情的になったときでもいたって変わらない。慌てたりとか謝ったりとかはない。俺のことを怒らせようとしてるんではないかと思うくらい。もう待つしかない、ここでは。もちろんきちんとしたインド人もたくさんいるが、俺が住んだ２ヶ月の経験から言うと本当に信用できる人は少ない。約束はまず破ると考えたほうがいい。信用すると裏切られるだけ。何度も頭の痛い思いをした。
I lived in India for 2 months. I wouldn’t want to stay there again if I have an oppotunity. I guess Japanese who live in India have difficult time. Nothing went well and it irritated me. As Japanese, I guess it’s difficult to stay there. Everything is slow, people don’t care much and everything takes a lot of time, these are the reasons. Even buying one ticket it takes 1 hour sometimes. Peple cut in when I buy ticket and the proceed of buying ticket is complicated sometimes because the proceed is different from Japan.
It was also disgusting when I contracted internet service. There is a company named TATADOCOMO, which is joint company between DOCOMO and TATA. DOCOMO is one of Japanese network companys and TATA is Indian big gloup which has many companies. I visited representative office and decided to contract. I thought this company is better comparatively. They required to prepare a proof of staying in India. I asked owner of my hotel to talk to them on the phone and they required electricity bill. I brought the bill and internet line was connectd after submitting the bill. But suddenly the connection was stopped after a few days. They insisted that the bill doesn’t work even though they required it and they stopped connection without saying anything. I tried to submit new ID from my friend in India and 1 week after it connected again. They said I could connect again after only 1 day but I had to wait for 1 week. Of cource I complained but it didn’t work because they didn’t cacth my phone and cut off during conversation even if they cacth my phone.
Totally they stoped the connection 4 times for 2 months and I couldn’t use service even for 1 month. First of all I complained with energy but I understood it doedn’t mean in India. The situation didn’t change even if I said anything. I changed contact personnal 3 times and wanted their boss but they worked through as same attitude. Their responce were so late and they broke the promise even if I got emotive. They kept same attitude and didn’t apporogize. I even felt they tried to make me angry. Waiting is the best way here otherwise I would waste my energy and get stress more. In my experience in India there are few people who can be believed. It’s better to think that they will broke a promise. I was betraied and got headache many times.
